Hitchcock's Love of Blondes

It is obvious that Hitchcock loves blondes or at least he has a lot in his movies. This is Hitchcock's last film and I love how the blonde in this movie is actually a brunette in a wig. I don't know why but I just thought it was awesome that Hitchcock did this in his last film. Does anyone else agree?

My three favorite films (order changes): Vertigo, Taxi Driver, and 2001: A Space Odyssey

Yes-I read in Barbara Harris's bio that she was a brunette--I just saw her in "A Thousand Clowns" with Jason Robards. Although I found her Blanche to be slightly annoying (sort of a cute smugness at times), Family Plot wasn't too bad a swan song for Hitch. Both Harris and Dern made an interesting and funny couple. Best blonde: 'Tippi' as 'Marnie'.

I also agree with the great little in joke of the blonde actually being a brunette in a wig, I just watched this again the other day and something that I had never been concious of before, but how the villains in Hitchcock's films are innvariably so clearly not to be trusted. It's not so obvious in his older films because that was just the times I guess but in this I was giglling all the time at just how obviously sinister he was especially during the scene where th police question him. Watch him as he picks off a hair from the detectives suit. I thought it was very funny.

I do agree. Barbara Harris (Family Plot) Tippi Hedron was also blonde (The Birds), Janet Leigh (Psycho) and all his actresses were blonde mostly.
