Forgive me, if I am wrong, but didn't Devane put the jewel in the chandelier without telling Black. If so, why would he refer to it later, when carrying Harris upstairs?
A good device for explaining her apparent psychic powers, but a glaring error in terms of the script.
First: indeed, that line was added to explain her apparent psychic powers(hence the final wink).
Second: I believe that Devane told Black he would reveal the location of the diamond to Black "if you torture it out of me." They were en route to the bedroom. Black announced her intentions to do just that.
I guess she did.
