This is a great movie worth seeing!
When it was first released it was to be Hitchcock's last movie and many people compared it to Hitchcock's other great movies. But the cast is good and the movie is very good and worth watching.

shareIt is a great movie, but it is my understanding that the critics didn't like it at the time.
shareI thought this was a
great film that was a
wonderful curtain call
for Hitchcock.
Karen Black is forever cool...
I really like this movie, but one thing that gets me is that there's SO much cursing in it that it gets a little distracting. I think it was par for the course for mid-70's flicks, but it kind of took away from my enjoyment of the movie. Just a personal opinion, call me puritanical if you will. Other than that, I thought it was great, and as mentioned, a fitting curtain call for Hitchcock.
shareI just saw it for the first time and unfortunately I thought it was dreadful.
shareI have to say I quite Liked it....maybe not the best film his made but is was a very good well rounded film which I didn't have much if anything to fault with. It also showed that even in his later years Hitchcock managed to keep up with the changing times.....and was a worthy swansong to a man that contributed so much to cinema.
shareIt's worth seeing for sure.
shareJohn Williams' music score sounds Bernard Herrmann-esque when Maloney tries to run George and Blanche over with his car!
When Family Plot(1976) came out in 1976, the critics were not impressed by it. However, they were impressed by the fact that a veteran such as Hitchcock was still making movies. This is what Francois Truffaut's Hitchcock book claims.
