Devane's jewelry store employee
Did anyone else think the woman who worked for William Devane's character at the jewelry story looked remarkably like Majel Barrett-Roddenberry?

shareYES! I thought so too!
shareand she also looked like Pat Nixon.
shareIndeed, in all cases.
Her name was Edith Atwater, and she was a familiar face from 60's and 70's TV.
I looked up her credits and she was a regular on a romantic sitcom called "Love on a Rooftop." Some 1976 audiences may have remembered her from there.
I remember her from William Castle's 1964 ode to Psycho(with a screenplay by Robert Bloch, the author OF Psycho) -- Strait-Jacket. Joan Crawford was the star; she played a woman released from a mental institution for axing her husband and his lover to death. When Joan returns to her brother's family farm, axe beheadings start to occur.
Joan's on-screen daughter in that film was Diane Baker, who was betrothed to a rich boy. Edith Atwater played the rich boy's rich mother.
