Although I like this one tremendously, the story should have included Mrs Rainbirds reaction to the conclusion.

I hate hating this film but really it is barely watchable. So dull. 5 out of 10 is very generous. Sorry, Alf.

What makes this film "work" is the strength of the 4 leads-- and the dynamics within.
LOVE this movie!

I reckon that Barbara Harris winking at the camera was the right conclusion. And a knowing wink to the career of Hitchcock as a tribute to him.
