i watched this at a buddies bbq and brew weekend blowout. friggin masterpiece just to watch neville brand, jones,englund ,whitman(how bout guyana cult!) and co......moving thru the story and crazy ass set.....wow, brought back the
drive in day-dream daze....neville was just trying to be a responsible pet owner? right!!!!!!!!!this movie classisc billion stars hollywood can't write this anymore.........too many shrek eggs a hatchin in them there studios!

Made perfect sense to me. Why don't you go return some videos.
The main problem with this movie is pacing. However much insanity Hooper packs in a frame, it's never sustained long enough or one-upped to reach the heights of Chainsaw Massacre. This is what gives people the sense that the film doesn't amount to anything. Ultimately, there's just as much content as Massacre, there's just too many lulls and too many pointless side-plots. Still, friggin great movie. The soundtrack is completely insane, too.

I watched about 40 minutes then gave up, I thought it sucked.

I loved the classic Hooper sound effects (many were very Chainsaw-ish) and endless country music creating tension through its annoyance. Judd's constant muttering to himself filled out the character nicely - a hell of a lot better than anything actors such as David Caruso have ever done. And how cool is it to have a classic dish like Carolyn Jones all done up in makeup, playing an ugly old woman? I'm glad TiVo decided to grab this for us.
