This film was made during the hottest summer ever recorded in the UK, the summer of 1976.

Don't I know it! I was in the lst Infantry Division stationed in Goeppingen, Germany and I remember that summer well! We WACS were assigned to go with the Infantry on manuvers to Grafenweir and all we did was sit. We could not fire any of our weapons or do anything for fear of setting the whole place on fire. It was so dry and hot! People all over Europe were suffering because they do not have air conditioners, especially in their vehicles and buses!

I was on a walking holiday in Shropshire. A student with no job, no money and not a care in the world enjoying the best summer in living memory, happy days.
