great attention to detail
IMHO, the attention to detail on the Gernam Troops uniforms and dedication to duty was dead on. They were Fallschirmjagers aka Paratoopers aka Airborne. Thoughts......

shareI can't comment on the German gear but when the spy is killed upstairs by the American soldier, he uses a full-auto M-1 Carbine with a 30 round magaazine. Should've had a 15 round semi-auto. But it sure looked good on film.
Larry Hagman's portrayal of the a**hole, sob commander was spot-on.

I would agree that the US troops equipment is not spot on. The M2 Carbine, 3.5" Bazooka, etc
However, the German Fallschirmjager Uniforms were pretty darn good IMHO.
The winter splinter camo smocks seen in the early parts of the film by Steiner and his men were originaly worn by Richard Burton and Co in Where Eagles Dare. The splinter camo is neither a German army or air force pattern. They were made up by a company for WED.
