I was just wondering how good the UK dvd actually is?, because it's been out for a long time now, and it seems like the best we're ever gonna get of this film, at least it's in it's proper aspect ratio, even if that is non-anamorphic.
Isn't there demand for a super-duper polished special edition I'd certainly buy it anyway.
i've had this on dvd for some time, don't seem to be anything bad about mine. if i recall right, i really, really got hooked on this, and it's total suspence, one scene, when one guy is tripping around up on the train, looks more like previous 1960 or a sit-com series special effect, one funny moment for me, is when there is a guy on the train, who is supose to speak swedish, and i even had to check the subtitles to even hear what the guy was saying, and it would probably had been somewhat impossible to make out the words to what he was saying otherwise. then another guy says "you speak swedish? great.". right.
everyday is the same in prison, it's been so long, since i travelled on the open roads, so long, since i walked around on the streets of home, where are the people, that i used to see, do they ever think about me? did i reach fortune, did i reach fame, all i know is, everyday in prison is the same. every once in a while, i get a visit, i wish i could move around as i used to, even though its been so long, i still miss it, for something i never did, i'm still here today, look at them laughing, while i'm locked in this chain, everyday in prison is the same.
There's a Special Edition DVD from France that has English soundtrack and removable French subtitles - and it IS anamorphically enhanced. Unfortunately two scenes are deleted (the Ann Turkel song and the scene where Lee Strasberg tries to wrangle himself a first class ticket) but they do appear as deleted scenes on Disc 2 - it also features a couple of original Trailers for the film. LE PONT DE CASSANDRA.
