burt lancaster

you know its ironic, in 1969 Burt Lancaster made a really really good film set in France where he was a french railwayman working against the nazis who were trying to steal all of the Paris collection of art. Its good because all the french characters actually drive the steam locomotives and all the crashes are REAL smash ups which were extremely violent and cool. Why can't modern films be so realistic as to do everything for real? (other than kill actors, we don't like snuff movies do we?)
Its funny, because with his added experiance, Lancaster could have been a good source of info for the train stuff, but no.............

You're cute: The Film you mean is The Train from 1965. The Action was done by Second Unit specialists, no help from its star Lancaster.

In fact he doubled himself, but another guy played his left leg.
