Alternate plots and omitted endings?!

The weakness of the plot and lack of credibility in the characterization of colonel MacKenzie inspired me to suggest alterations, though they would be just as unsatisfying:

1. The "plague" bacteria are just short term bugs, the purpose of the time travelers ruse is to destroy the train which is carrying OJ Simpson who would then not be alive to be tried for the murder of his wife, avoiding the tawdry celebrity craze around the trial.

2. The bacteria are real, the Colonel's motivation was as depicted, the train falls into the river, and the diseased bodies float down the river to infect the world leading to the destruction of all humans on the planet except for the star characters who have emigrated to (chose the planet).

3. The Cassandra crossing bridge is a tasteles Polish joke.
