Remake?

I'm not a huge fan of remakes, especially of very good films (which this is NOT), but wouldn't this be an interesting one to remake. You could tinker with the plot problems to improve it and update certain elements (biological agent released by terrorists on a train). I actually could see Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the Harris and Loren roles, maybe even getting Pitt's pal, George Clooney, to slum it in the O.J. Simpson role.

It made me think, in a creepy way, of "United 93" and that whole reality.

You won't like that fact regarding your wish for Brangelina, but that film has already been remade, with a slightly altered plot, and starring Jean Claude van Damme as the main character. This new version includes lots of bad, bad acting, so it's fun to see!
It's called "Derailed" and was made in 2002.

Well technically 'Derailed' is not a remake or has any connection to The Cassandra Crossing.

It features a train and a virus thats where the likeliness ends.

The set-up is completely different.

True. But I just couldn't help thinking about that as a "new idea" or "a movie that would have existed if Cassandra Crossing hadn't been made"!

Or would you think that the writer of Derailed had a damn brilliant idea for a movie and in the and just happend to be in bad luck upon realizing a similar movie did already exist???

Anyway, fun to watch... unless you're sober.

Well, while we're on the subject of a CASSANDRA CROSSING remake and Angeline Jolie, I would say that the whole messed up train sequence from WANTED would probably get you halfway there...

Indeed, that had a bridge over a gorge . . . an unfeasibly deep one too.

DERAILED did have a bridge climax as well, albeit a bridge shot to pieces by stock Apache Helicopter footage . . .
