Lionel Stander - Max 'the Train Conductor'

If Ernest Borgnine were to have an 'Evil Twin' it would be Lionel... LOL !
Just me ?

This film also made me aware of just how short several actors are. Sheen creeped me out as the hair cut somehow managed to make him look ... hydrocephalic ??
Especially the early scene in the dining car - I believe he was wearing an
ascot ? The 'stand off' close ups though (just prior to being disarmed by Cane) he looked normally proportioned.Maybe entirely 'wardrobe' dependent ? Even Lancaster - standing next to the other officer, appeared much shorter than I ever imagined (unless officer stood 6'7"). Minor points and I'm not trying to be 'cruel' or make fun of anyone here - just odd to me that in this movie and only in this movie do these actors look 'odd' to me. An all star ensemble reduced to smoldering embers.
BTW, who thought Turkel could sing ? How could so many people not see what a 'train wreck' they were participating in ?

**Short people have feelings too...

The scenery made this movie worth the tome invested watching it - I love trains.
I'd love to ride this route (if still intact).

I also thought at first that Max the conducter was Ernest Borgnine. Wouldn't be that surprised, even, as he quite often popped up in 70's disaster flicks ("When Time Ran Out", "Fire!" ...)

I felt the knife in my hand
and she laughed no more
