Machine Gun Make and Model
What kind of machine guns did the soldiers used? They certainly weren't the standard M-16 used by the U.S. armed forces.

Given that they were stationed in Europe and they seemed to be a special forces group, then they might have access to weapons other than the standard US firearms wherever they were based(one presumes West Germany as it was then as they boarded at Nuremburg when the train was being sealed up).
