Richard Pryor made a guest appearance on SNL. If you didn't see it live, you can pick up a copy at your local Blockbuster.

I remember Richard Pryor's appearance on SNL. They did a spoof of "The Exorcist" in which he played a priest - it was hilarious. He did one of his usual comedy routines during the show that had me rolling on the floor. I think it included all or part of his "Mudbone" bit.

I've always liked this movie, but I LOVE the music! I bought the soundtrack on vinyl when the movie came out, but it disappeared sometime in the '80's (I think my landlady stole it). I recently bought the CD, and the music sounds better (make that GROOVIER) than ever.

Richard Pryor hosted SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE a couple of times, if memory serves. If you're referring to why they didn't cast him as a regular, Pryor's film career was red hot at the time SNL first started getting popular. Not to mention the fact that Pryor was at his best when he was uncensored and there is doubt in my mind that if he had been a regular on SNL, the producers would have been butting heads with Standards and Practices on a regular basis.

Richard Pyror was at the height of his movie career in the 70's. He was one of the most popular comedians then.

Taking a job as a regular on SNL would have been a step down for him. Being a guest host on SNL is different. He did that more than once from what i recall to. Funny as H*ll.
