bathroom scene in Car Wash
I think the scene where Marsha is in the bathroom and the guy puts on his buddys mickey mouse ears and scares her is truly the funniest bathroom scene in the movies. Any other opinions?

shareA little politically incorrect. But funny as all-get-out.
shareThat's what makes it funny. If anything has ruined Hollywood in recent years, it's been this obsession with filmmakers wanting to be politically correct.
shareUniversal Pictures have a specially designed website to celebrate their 100th anniversary this year and not only has Car Wash been selected as one of the 100 films they feel best represents the studio and the clip they have chosen is the bathroom prank scene we're discussing.
I'm sure Joel Schumacher is proud LOL!
LOL...that's great. I'm surprised some Hollywood worm hasn't started yapping about it being politically incorrect yet.
shareNice that you mentioned this scene. I was in elementary school when the movie came out and one boy actually went to see it even though it was PG!!! He told us the movie in detail and said there was a scene in the bathroom that showed EVERYTHING!!!!! I still do not know what EVERYTHING means to a 10 year old! But almost 30 years later the movie is on my top 20 list of movies. The movie gives us a good glimpse into urban life in the 70s and has good social commentary.
ALSO the woman in the bathroom is quite famous-- actress Melanie Myron (thirtysomething and recently doing a lot of voice over work).

sometimes this scene is deleted.
shareI love that scene too,its best!

why?
shareIt was deleted for the TV showing because it was too "racy" for it's time to show on TV.

How could it be too "racy"?
shareIt's NOT but apparently that's what the TV censors thought. I guess it figures because at the time the movie was shown on TV bathrooms (toilets that is) weren't even acknowledged on TV, not shown, not referred to. Actually sitting on a toilet...heaven forbid!

There was also controversy on the show 'All In The Family' in the early '70's, when Archie Bunker would flush the toilet. That was the first "toilet flush" ever heard on television, and was considered "groundbreaking" at the time.
Crazy.
Hmmm never thought of it that way that Melanie Mayron's Marsha sitting on the toilet would be considered racy. Not to be weird or anything i sometimes wonder how many takes did they do for that scene?
shareThis scene is great but what makes it even more funny is poor Geronimo dropping his sub sandwich on the ground after all hell breaks loose when Mayron dumps the bucket of water. Boy was he pissed! But being the trooper he was, he just picks up the pieces and resumes his lunch.
