If Bugsy Malone had been made in America..
do you think it would've been any different?
shareProbably. It would have been corny, more like a Disney production. and i doubt as much detail would have been given to the beautiful sets and cinematography. (Alan Parker is an iconic director.) Also, the kids might have been a bit older, and really famous at time of production. Films from outside USA tend to have more artistic value. Good question btw...
"IMdB; where 14 year olds can act like jaded 40 year old critics...'

I did not know it was not made in the USA?
shareHow is that a question?
shareMe neither. I thought it was a kids film made in the US. I'll have to watch it again.

Me neither. I thought it was a kids film made in the US. I'll have to watch it again. Not only was it not made in America, but Bugsy, Blousey, Tallulah, and Sam were the only characters played by Americans (and even Florrie Dugger was living in Britain at the time).

It was not a question. Just a reply to the subject matter.
shareI ended my reply with a?hoping someone would know where it was filmed?
shareIt was a UK production made by the Rank Organisation and mostly filmed at Pinewood Studios.
(knock,knock,knock) Penny (knock,knock,knock) Penny (knock,knock,knock) Penny
A bit of trivia concerning the production in London: Florrie Dugger was (in 1975) a daughter of a MSgt stationed at RAF Chicksands north of London. She was attending the American High School in London at the time of her audition. Needless to say that when the movie was shown in the base theater it was a sold out event
sharerycki1138.Thanks. fw.
shareSome of it was shot at the deserted Huntley and Palmer's Biscuit factory in Reading, now demolished in part. I always found the movie creepy even as a kid.
shareThank you Ricky.
shareit would have been better IMO. Would of liked to see a more serious mob movie, this movie is way to corny
