Most raw and shocking scene ever ??

MAJOR SPOILER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been watching horror, SciFi and Action movies all my life, so I think I've quite seen my share of shocking images. But I can honestly say the scene in Assautl on Precinct 13 where the little girl is shot is the most brutal sequence I've ever seen. It's so raw, without even considering her age and innocence, the thug just blows her away ! A perfect image of the lack of emotions these characters suffer from. Well done, Mr. Carpenter !!

Anyone else agree this is one of the most brutal scenes in cinema ever ?

You're not a hero ... unless you die

reply

no..it's black humour

reply

It shocked me, and I've seen some really shocking horror films.

Just the way it is so casual and sudden, in any modern film, the father would rush her to a hospital, or at the end the police would say they found her, and she is okay now.

R-T-C

This city is under martial law until we annihilate THEM!

reply

I agree that it was really shocking, but I have seen worse.

reply

All i did was chuckle. That kid was annoying and it was obvious something was going to happen to her.

reply

Yes it was shocking.
I am disappointed by how many people found it funny or thought a little girl who wanted a different ice cream type got her just desserts by being shot. What is wrong with you morons.

reply

Well she is even more annoying in real life. She is Paris Hiltons aunt, the nutcase on that dumb reality show, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

reply

She is Paris Hiltons's aunt. LOL. Small world. Aunt & niece, both died in movie.

reply

I completely did not see it coming, but I was really relieved that we weren't going to have to put up with her the whole movie. Super annoying.

reply

isnt black humour supposed to be funny? i found it very shocking

reply

I found found it more funny than shocking that girl was annoying anyway. 'I wanted vanilla twist'

'Here is a man who would not take it anymore!'

reply

So every time a child wants a vanilla twist they should die?! ;)

They call me MISTER Jinx

reply

I don't know about Vanilla Twist but she sure got a Strawberry Silencer...heheheh ( I know...I'm terrible)

But seriously, the scene where the girl get's shot reminded me of the scene where Melanie gets shot in 'Jackie Brown'. It's no surprise that the VHS copy of the film I have says on the cover "One of Quintin Tarentino's favortite films". That's where that dark humor comes in handy.

I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy.

reply

i cant believe anyone was shocked by this scene?

reply

Yea I really think everyone took this to seriously....

reply

For 1976 it was amazingly shocking.

reply

Her shooting was bad, but me and my mates pissed ourselves laughing when the grief-stricken dad covered her with his jacket and then took off after the gang in his car. Yeah, sure you'd just leave your daughter's body like that on a 1 hour plus car chase!

Cheesy film overall, has NOT aged well at all.

reply

It was also quite shocking for 2013.

reply

To be honest, I thought it was going to be the guy in the phone booth who was going to get it. Or at least just the ice cream guy. In retrospect, perhaps I should have seen it coming, but I really didn't think they would go there. And I've seen a decent amount of "B" action movies.

reply

In the censored TV version, you can hear the girl get shot, but you can't see her.

reply

When I was watching the movie for the first time, I thought the little girl was sweet and I liked her (not THAT way you freaks!).

reply

I found it shocking and not funny at all. I probably would have been amused a few years ago, but I grew out of it.

You see? I'm a steelworker. I kill what I eat. See?

reply

yeah, i couldn't believe it when it happened you never expect to see something like thatm especially with young girls...harsh!

definatly something i'll remember.

My sister was obsessed with Kim Richards from her "Nanny & The Professor" days. When little Kathy gets it, I found my sister screaming "PRUDENCE!!??" funny, but not a little girl getting shot. My sister has since recovered.

reply

I thought the scene as shocking too. I was expecting her to run off side the thug had not shot the ice cream truck guy at that point.

I think it was more shocking for the time because even during the filming of Dawn of the Dead 1978, they were worried how people would look at The shooting of two zombie children who eat flesh, no less an innocent girl wanting ice cream.

reply

It was hilarious.

Torture you? That's a good... that's a good idea... I like that one.

reply

I would guess that sometimes people who are shot in real life really DO just fall down.

reply

It was definitely one of the more jarring things I've ever seen. I don't think it was meant to be humorous at all--I think it was meant to establish the cold inhumanity of the gang members (refreshing, considering how compelling and human everyone wants their villains to be these days). Quite honestly, folks, I think you're giving this movie a little too much credit...there's really not a shred of irony in the whole thing.

The scene in City of God where Lil' Ze forces one child to shoot another might be more wrenching--but at least in that scene, the killer is reluctant and agonizes over what he does.

The vanilla twist scene reminds me a lot of the way Scorcese uses violence, actually--it's sudden and ugly and totally without ceremony.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

reply

Kind of like violence in real life.

That City of God scene seems (haven't seen that movie) even more shocking and establishes that "Lil' Ze" is a really sadistic piece of garbage.
Instead of killing the child himself, he has another child do it, scarring the one that lives emotionally and psychologically for life...ruining two lives with one order.

reply

No it wasn't the most shocking, even though it did surprise me. But CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST was the most disturbing movie ever....but I'm not telling you to watch it...im telling you to stay away from it.

reply

How can you consider that scene raw and shocking? Okay, it's a little girl, she gets blown apart, not nice. However, it's not real, she may actually be acting, and whats more, she was an annoying little sh**e. Death to her i say. Death!

reply

How can you NOT consider the scene raw and shocking?
If you don't, I think you're emotionally desensitized or something.
I was just getting to think the girl was a nice little kid and then *blam* the Thunderman ended her life with that museum piece Mauser.

reply

Amazing at the trolls who find that scene funny.
The scene was a shocker. Period.
And furthermore, the film is a real shocker to those Kim Richards fans who stumble across the beginning of the flick with no idea what is about to happen!
I know, because that's how I encountered the flick!

reply

I think Henry Fonda killing the family in Once Upon A Time In The West is at least as shocking.

reply

That Scene Was indeed really hardcore even by todays standards

reply

I saw CH, it was nothing compared to Salo.

I remember I was in an argument with someone about how Hollywood would never blatantly kill off a little blonde girl in a movie, then someone shot back "What about the original Precinct 13?" To which I replied "That was Carpenter, he's not Hollywood, he doesn't count!"

What will the remakecrap have in its place, I wonder? Will it be - gasp! - a scene with a cop (one day to retirement!) getting shot?
