If not Linda Carter?

Love Carter as Wonder Woman but Maud Adams would've been good for the role if Carter didnt get it.

Who was vying for the role at the time?

That might help, but Wonder Woman was defined by Lynda Carter. Some storylines are dated (and others are still top notch), but she definitively nails the role consistently, regardless of story. She was well cast...

She certainly was!!!!!

Thankfully, Lynda won the role. Actress Joanna Cassidy was also a contender for the role, but Lynda completely embodied Wonder Woman once she tried on the costume and they knew she was Wonder Woman. Thank God!

I'm trying to think of someone but i cant find any. Carter was too much perfect for the role

It's fun to speculate who could have been Wonder Woman instead of Lynda Carter but let's face it, she was born to play Wonder Woman. The casting was perfect. Everything about her was Wonder Woman. She even looked as if she had just stepped
out of the comic book. Lynda Carter will always be the definitive Wonder Woman.

What about Barbara Bach?

Lynda Carter was almost perfect as Wonder Woman. I heard Claudia Jennings was the second choice for the role.

reply

She was a lucky find. There were not too many actresses out there at the time who had the looks, athleticism, sense of humor.

The one other actress I can think of in terms of presence and formidability is Barbara Rhoades. At the very least, she would have been a better choice for the Nazi Wonder Woman than Lynda Day George!

reply

Joanna Cassidy was considered.

Debbie Shelton would have been an interesting choice. Carter definitely owned the role.
