The Hope is not Lost
This topic originally said something else but i felt it was no longer needed and this post would do better.
So we have sat in wonder for many years why can't we get the missing Season 2s o the Scooby Doo Show and Dynomutt. I and others around here and other sites have theorized and argued but at this point i really feel hope is still very practical.
WHV has slowly re-started the season sets for HB. Especially now with 2012's Laff-a-lympics dvd getting renamed to be considered a season-like set, 2013's Tom and Jerry Kids release and the soon 2014 Flintstone Kids release, it seems a safe bet, that WHV knows we want them and will eventually deliver.
However if you are confused, please allow this sum up to answer why you should have hope, (aka a faq so i don't have to post more on it)
1. The key to knowing WHV did not give up in them is the Warner Archive. They can only touch things WHV gives up on. Given that they DO not currently have permission to tackle Dynomutt Season 2, Richie Rich seasons 1 & 2 and The Puppy season 1, means WHV must still have plans for completing season sets of Scooby, since if not all of these would be fair game for the archive like Captain Caveman was.
2. If you look at all the releases of the 13 Spooky Tales and "Scooby and the" sets you will notice they have not yet completed any single season release. Meaning they are purposely making sure so that even if you have bought all of them, you will still need to buy a potential season set to complete your collection. And on top of this notice one season is being kept off the digital downloads....again making sure there is still demand for them. If they had given up on them, none of these things would make sense.
3. While corporate greed for money is prevalent, let's not forget one of our Scooby Doo series might still have big bills to pay for celebrity clearances. The reason for the stall out may in fact to be to gain funds so that one day we could have a complete scooby collection on DVD.
4. They are not witholding certain ones because of Scrappy, if they DID want to hide him from you, why would they be releasing episodes with him on each random episode set? Why would they be selling his episodes as digital downloads with his name all over them? Why would they put him on the cover of one of the random set DVDs? If WB is trying to place a conspiracy to HIDE Scrappy Doo from the public like some suggest, they are truly awful at hiding conspiracies.
5. As a final note don't be surprised if they choose to throw some to the Warner Archive. Since if the rate is one a year (that would as of right now also include the remaining smurf, flintstones and tom and jerry sets) then the WA would probably finish the HB releases before WHV could finish their own, which just seems unlikely. WHV has already split certain properties like Popeye and the later WB productions to where some go to retail and others to the archive based on popularity. And recently WHV has sent the blurays of newer DC programs to the archive as well. So i would prepare that the possibility that some of the later scrappy releases might go that route.
Okay this is about the gut of everything as of right now we have based on what we have been told from the horse's mouth and what i've seen others say. If you would rather be doubtful that's fine, but to anyone visiting this page hoping for the day some of these see complete releases, you now have an easy to access list of reasons why others are.
I refuse to argue on IMDB until the general populous actually uses their brains
