Which episode has the Monster swallowing the girl on stage?

This scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. It was one of the huge monsters, maybe Sweetums. A beautiful women was on stage and he swallowed her whole! F'd me up as a kid!

I don't know of any episodes where a girl gets eaten by a monster. Do you remember whether it was a guest star or a Muppet girl? I don't think any guest stars were eaten. The closest would be the Candice Bergin episode, where Kermit tells Candice that last week Sweetums ate the guest (going by production order that would have been Sandy Duncan), and the Zero Mostel epsiode, where Zero is seen getting eaten by Behemoth at the very beginning (though only his arm is in the mouth), and at the very end, Mean Mama is seen about to eat Zero right before the scene cuts to the closing (ironically, this was Zero's last television appearance).

Now, Miss Piggy has been eaten twice. In the Joel Grey episode, she gets eaten by Gorgon Heap in th Sherlock Holmes sketch, and in the Carol Burnett episode, she gets eaten by Mean Mama in Pigs in Space.

Maybe you are referring to the Under my Skin number from the Vincent Price episode, where Behemoth eats Shakey Shanchez. Shakey Shanchez is not a girl, but maybe you mistook him for one (his hair is a bit long).

The Joel Grey and Vincent Price epsidoes are from the first season, which is currently available on DVD. The Carol Burnett epsidoe is from the ifth season, but was previosuly released in one of The Best of the Muppet Show DVDs released by Time-Life (and later reissued by Columbia) long ago.

I seem to vaguely recall that episode, too. I'm wanting to say it was during a dance sequence, and one of the monsters gobbled her down. I don't remember which episode--hell, I was probably less than 10 at the time. It freaked me out a little, too.

I also remember a movie with a girl getting eaten by a couch. Crazy what we remember from childhood.

The Muppet Show could be pretty grotesque at times, but I can't recall seeing anything quite like that on the show.

Perhaps you're referring to the Talk Spot in the Rita Moreno episode (in the first season), where she is being interviewed by Kermit and ends up getting carried off stage by Sweetums? No actual devouring involved, but I can understand how a child might interpret the scene that way.

I tried unsuccessfully to find a clip of this at Youtube.

The first season Sherlock Holmes sketch has Sherlock suspecting a large, grotesque, monster butler commited the murder. Sherlock goes on to list the evidence piece by piece, and the monster eats each thing when he says it. Holmes eventually sights Miss Piggy as a witness, and the monster swallows her. Not sure if that's what you were looking for.

I just noticed that the person who's post is immeadiately above mine is a Douglas Adams fan.
