It's such a shame that most TV Themes nowadays are really short...sometimes non-existent.
True story time....
My favourite team in the American Hockey League is the Milwaukee Admirals. They are the top affiliate of the Nashville Predators.
I am in southern Ontario. The closest AHL team to me is the Hamilton Bulldogs. Since the two teams are in different conferences, the Admirals only visit Hamilton once a season.
A few seasons ago, I made my way to Hamilton for the game.
When the Admirals skated on to the ice for the second period, the "Laverne & Shirley" theme song played.
I just about peed myself laughing!
"Laverne & Shirley" was set in Milwaukee, which is also the home of the Admirals.
I've always loved the them song "Making Our Dreams Come True" by Cyndi Grecco.
I was also pleased when it became a top 20 hit on the U.S. Pop charts in 1976 as well. ξ
You're right about TV themes these days. Take "Mike & Molly" "For the first time in my life i see love". That's it,a ..what? 10 second theme?
Or the Two & Half Men Theme (I can;t think of any other shows that have themes right now.) The last sitcoms to have a really good theme were King Of Queens and even more notably "The Nanny".
Which I'm happy to say never altered it's theme song in ti's 6 season run. I also call The nanny,"the last "fun" sitcom.

I was out in Stratford, ON (home of Justin Bieber!) one day while I was on vacation the one day...doing some Christmas shopping. I have SiriusXM satellite radio in my car. I had the channel tuned to 70s on 7. That song played. I didn't think much of it at the time...until I heard the chorus. I KNOW THAT SONG!!! ξ

They did expand the theme to "Mike & Molly" a little bit starting last season. It is now at....probably 30 seconds.
But, yes. I agree. One other one I can think of is "The McCarthys". Theme song to that is non-existant.
In recent memory, the last good theme song I can recall is "Just Fine", which was the theme song to "Sam & Cat".
Sorry about my very delayed response.... I got busy over the holidays and in January especially.
I wouldn't judge you on that because I've never heard of Sam 7 cat. ξ¦
Yes, I am very glad they extended Mike & Mollly's theme song and I'm also glad my prediction back in 2010 (on the Mike & Molly board) paid off. I knew it last more than 2 years. (Mainly because it was the best written (And I thought Hheartfelt)show of the 2010-2011 season.
At that time, the sitcom world was almost non- existant. (Just 2 & 1/2 Men and ....uh..ξ get my point. ξ¦
Theme songs :
Seinfeld's "twang-a twang-twang's pretty short. (I know,the closing theme's a bit longer.
Last really good sitcom themes?
Easy : "King Of Queens" ("Drvin' Home To You") and "The Nanny Named Fran" from (duh.) "The Nanny".
...and actually,I consider The Nanny to be last "really" fun sitcom (ala Three's Company / I Love Lucy.)
It's also the (so far) last sitcom I know of to be shot on video-tape.
