I'm not sure if the original music would be intact, because I know that some of the music in the first season DVD set was changed. Music rights are one of the reasons the DVD process is so slow. I don't think it should be such a big problem, since TV stations keep the same music intact.
I've heard that he has mentioned getting the rights from various articles, but I'm not positive that they are reliable are not. Either way, I've heard him say on television he is definitely trying to release it through a legitimate company, whether he's buying the rights from Paramount or not. Cindy Williams has said through the guestbook on her website that all of the seasons will definitely be released... she's just not sure exactly when that will happen.
Also, David Lander was on Entertainment Tonight a week and a half ago, and he said that they're planning a third reunion (perhaps for the thirtieth anniversary). If enough viewers tune in, there may be a greater demand. Occasionally, television stations (such as N@N or TVLand) will pick up a series if they see if certain specials are successful, which speed up the release of the DVDs as well.
