Laverne and Shirley Got To Night School - "Put Me On College Bowl"

When Laverne is kicked out of night school, or she quit, Shirley comes in with a brochure for other classes she could take.

When Shirley says Laverne can go back to night school, Laverne says, what do you want to do, get me drunk and put me on College Bowl?

I just LOVE these old show references on here, such as Laverne saying it was too early to get up and watch Sky King, in an earlier episode.

I wondered what College Bowl was and looked it up. There's no reference to students potentially being drunk, which was what I thought, so clearly Laverne being drunk was it would make her even more stupid on the show.

I know Mrs. Babbish referred to Divorce Court once, which later had that horrible staged crap in the '80s. Wonder how scandalous this fifties version became.
