Actor Older Than Actress Playing His Mother!

George Baker was born in 1931. Sian Philips in 1933. He plays her (Livia's) son Tiberius. That's crazy! It makes her seem older than she was.

"It makes her seem older than she was."

If she seemed older, then I guess that must be a credit.

You'd never last at the opera.

The Fabio Principle: Puffy shirts look best on men who look even better without them.

Was believable though.... and the make-up helped!

Actually, I had a bigger problem with Margaret Tyzack looking too old for her character. She did well, but she looked too old.

Only for one episode or two; By the time of "What are we to do about Claudius?" Antonia is in her forties and afterwards her best parts are at years beyond Tyzack's natural age. Besides, Tyzack looked rather mature in her younger years as well.

And Tyzack is a superior acting talent. I love watching her perform.

yeah, it's called good acting, where you don't need CGI special effects etc, just some latex and make-up and wigs back then!
