In "The First Time", why were there only 3 people in the entire skating rink?

I thought everyone was into roller skating at that time. I know I was!!
shareBecause the young girl who was skating wasn't really BUDDY.
You can tell it isn't her by the way that she can barely skate, whereas that other girl was skating and moving around the rink like a PRO.
And it's also cheaper and easier to film that scene without having to pay EXTRAS to be there or worry about putting up with regular people (who aren't actors) who might be there trying to HOG the camera in that scene.
