can anyone help me out trying to remember if linda laven played a lawyer
sharehttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0577431/
According to IMDB, she played a character named Annie Laurie. I vaguely remember the character but's its been a while since I've seen the episode. Have season 1 but haven't watched it yet. There are alot of Family "experts" who visit this board on a regular basis who will probably know if Annie Laurie was a lawyer.
Here ya go, from season 3:

I am an obssesive "Family" fan! Linda Lavin played Annie Laurie Webster (aka: the dragon lady), a young lawyer who worked with (or against) Doug on a case. Doug and Annie Laurie came quite close to having an affair. She was really after him and they ended up in a hotel room together. I remember it being quite upsetting to me as a child that Doug would put himself in the position to potentially cheat on Kate, my dream mother!!
Long live Sada Thompson!
Doug did have an affair once; Kate mentioned it. It had been quite some time ago. I think the woman came back to town and called him "just for old times sake" and Kate was angry and upset about it.
shareI wish all seasons will come onto dvd.
shareOh, me too! I remember many wonderful episodes from the later seasons -- Buddy almost giving in and sleeping with T.J., Nancy briefly deciding not to be a lawyer, Willie's marriage and his wife's death. One very poignant episode I remember is where Ken Kercheval (of "Dallas" fame) plays a married sleaze who has an affair with Nancy's best friend and then breaks off with her. The girl goes to a remote mountain cabin and decides to kill herself, but first calls Nancy to tell her goodbye. Nancy and Willie frantically try to find her before it's too late (they do).
shareDoug's former mistress, Margaret was mentioned in the pilot ep The Best Years *Remember the big argument between Doug and Kate in the kitchen that Buddy overhears?*...and then she shows up in the first real season..aka s2...and this time Doug *who had another argument about Margaret in THIS ep* almost considers hanging with her again...mainly because by this time Kate has gone back to school and "has no time for him" *ISIS rolls eyes*...it was a good ep though...I won't spoil the whole thing...cuz if you haven't seen it...go buy the dvds so you can.
