Nancy was the victim of a stalker in Episode 21 spoiler

"Someone's Watching". But that term wasn't used in the 1970's. She was getting expensive gifts anonymously and started to feel violated and threatened, especially when he left a toy for Timmy. She went to the police and it burned me up to see how casually they acted about it. They told her that her "admirer" obviously had her on a pedestal, so not to do anything to destroy his perfect image of her. She was made to feel that it was all her fault. The stalker turned out to be a creepy looking guy in her law class, and when she confronted him, he turned and ran away without saying a word. Nothing was said about why he was stalking her. Now, stalking is a crime and she could have him arrested or at least get a restraining order.

I was thinking the same thing as I was watching this episode on the dvd. If this happened now he would have been arrested.
When I watch some of these old shows from the 70's it's interesting to see how much attitudes have changed.
Like when Doug's sister was going to drive off drunk and Kate didn't think anything of it.
Or when Nancy is always leaving Timmy in the guest house alone when she goes over to see her parents in the main house. Nowdays social services would have her investigated & charged with neglect & given Timmy to his father.

not to mention all the smoking everyone's doing on the dvd's.. and the drinking..OMG now a days they'd all be alcoholics not just Doug's sister LOL

It's interested to see how, with all the freely-flowing liquor in the house, Buddy apparently never was tempted to try it.

This is the weakest episode of the batch on DVD in my opinion. The very first episodes are of a much higher caliber because they come from the family dynamics. Later it's more "problem of the week" driven -- Willie has a gay friend, Doug's got a drunk sister, and so on.

Funny, I remember this stalker episode the most. What happened to the stalker? He was a guy in her law school class. He just ran off after she confronted him. Did he quit law school?

What happened to him was never revealed. I believe the last encounter Nancy had was when she confronted him and he ran off.
