Question about Ray Combs
I just read on here http://www.retrojunk.com/details_tvshows/892-family-feud/ That in 1994 when Ray Combs left. He left because he was fired. Is this true?
shareGo loook on his Imdb profile. It says they let Richard Dawson back because of the ratings were declining or something. Just go look in his profile and when you do the search click on the one that says Ray Combs(1) It's like the 2nd name listed, then click on that. After you click on it go to trivia, then you should see something that says "show more" click on that. Then just scroll down and read the whole thing. I just think it's really sad how he died. It is just terrible.

They show Family feud episodes with Ray Combs Monday-Friday at 4:00 (Central Standard Time) and Family Feud Episodes with Richard Dawson Monday-Friday at 4:30 (Central Standard Time.)
Then Richard Dawson episodes on Saturday and Sunday at 3:00 (Central Standard Time) and Ray Combs episodes on Saturday and Sunday at 3:30 (Central Standard Time.)

shareThe son of Mark Goodson who was running the show at the time blamed the show's poor ratings on Ray Combs, rather than some of the crappy gimmicks (Bullseye Round) they decided to put in. They fired Ray, and a short time later he killed himself.
shareOh. I have heard a lot of things. I have heard like some of the contestants he dealt with were too crazy and that caused him to kill himself. I also heard Ray decided to hang himself when they let him go, only because I think the producer wanted Dawson back. I also heard he had financial trouble and that's why he did it. I also heard he was having trouble with his wife, and his wife wouldn't let him see her or the kids, because at the time he was acting crazy. Yeah, it kind of stunk when Ray Combs left. He was funny! He was my favorite host.
