Was there ever an episode when the first player in the Fast Money round got 200 points alone, so there was no need to bring in the second player? I'm sure it's theoretically possible, if the first player said all five #1 answers, but I don't recall ever seeing it happen.

I don't recall. However in the austrialian version this past year, A Women Got 196 points (all #1 answers) in the first round. And they won 100,000$ Here is the clip...
Yes, I specifically remember at least one time that happened while Ray Combs was hosting...they played a trick on the 2nd player by Ray making up some hilarious questions, the one I remember is "Name a day between Monday and Wednesday"...the look on the player's face was priceless. I've been looking for video of this for a long time.
Yes. I remembered at least twice when Ray Combs was hosting, and I remember the questions they asked from the one I said. and I remember exactly how it went. The lady got 203 points. They played a trick on the 2nd player. They made them believe their partner only got 5 points. It's not on youtube, so I will have to tell you how it went. The producer was only telling Ray they had 30 seconds, so they had to do it quickly. Here's how it went and Paul was the contestant's name
Ray: Paul, look up there you need 195 points. They choked, you can do this. 20 seconds on the clock please. (Ding) Good Luck Paul. We ask 100 people, on the moon there are over 2,000 luner lakes name one? Paul: Uh...pass. Ray: Curly Larry and Mo name Curly's dog? Paul: Chef. Ray: Which of the three stooges did you love most? Paul: Curly. Ray: A game show host you can not stand? Paul: Ray Combs. Ray: A number between 3 and 5. Paul: 2. Ray: On the moon there are over 3,000 luner lakes name one Paul: Uh...Orbenes
(Yeah, why he changed it the number of planets from 2,000 to 3,000 I don't know.)
Then they tell him that the 1st partner got 200 points all by theirself. They didn't even need him. Then I remember they did that again, once on GSN, I don't remember what they did to trick the contestant that time, but they asked the same question A Number between 3 and 5 and he said 2 as well. During the celebrity look-a-like week, the man playing Elvis Presley got 200 points all by himself, they didn't have time to bring the man who looked like Burt out, so they just told him they didn't need him. So yes it has happened sometimes.
I also recall the first partner getting 200 points on one or two of Richard Dawson's "Feud." It also happened during special celebrity matches. One time the "Price is Right" team won on the first time.
Never did I see it when Louie Anderson was host -- Actually, I don't recall very many families making it to 200 with a combination of two people while he was host.
100 people surveyed and the answer is Yes! It has happened a few times, at least once with Richard and according to others again with Ray Combs. I recall Richard bringing up the whole family and taking up the time by interviewing grandma, the entire family, blah blah blah. I do know Ray Combs committed suicide and so did Herve Villaches (sp?)...the dwarf who played Ricardo Montalban's (sp?) sidekick on Fantasy Island. Herve actually hung himself....I always say "He wasn't trying to commit suicide, he was trying to make himself taller." Horrible, I know. An idea to find out more or see more of these types of shows would be to write Game Show Network and ask them to show these particular shows. Couldn't hurt to try. Good luck fellow bored humans!
My parents were on the show in 1994 when Richard Dawson returned for a season. They were actually on the original show for 5 episodes back in 78, and were allowed to replay (one episode only) for Dawson's return.
Anyway, due to tradition, my mom did the first round of Fast Money and my dad did the second. My mom got every number one answer and scored over 200 points. It was pretty sweet....
I think it's no longer possible on the Steve Harvey-hosted incarnation. I've seen three or four instances of the first person getting all five #1 answers, and it only added up to somewhere between 170-190.
