Why not a DVD?

It never ceases to amaze me, the endless list of crappy movies available on DVD!!! What I CANNOT fathom though is how great movies like "The Wind and The Lion" are not available, I swear it is almost a crime. Ah well, maybe someday !!!

I've got it and it is darn good! :)

I agree, they took too long at releasing this masterpiece. Possibly because of the arab content.

I agree with your saying, maybe it wasn't realeased earlier because It presents Arabs in an (unusual) respectable manner . Such a great movie and SHOUKRAN for its producers & cast . Especially Sean Connery Great actor .

Sean Connery is a wonderful actor and one of my favorites also.

I just rented this movie on DVD from Blockbuster Online. It was great and I was especially impressed with the beauty of the scenery and cinematography.

Film companies release the films that they're sure will be big sellers first, and those are usually the most recent and others that had big box office. They eventually get around to releasing films that will sell fewer due to a smaller fan base. This is one of the latter.

I agree, I have only sen this movie once, and would LOVE to see it again. I looked on netflix and I didn't find it, yet they have every other movie but the one I really want to see.

Damn, maybe someday, I would love to have this in my collection.

Pretty much every big video store I have access to (Saturday Night Matinee, FYE, Suncoast Video) sells this film in moderate quantities (i.e., usually two or three copies), and usually at a very low price - I bought my copy from a Suncoast last year for $9.99, and it was brand new. It is a pretty popular title, after all it won a poll on films that fans wanted WB to release on DVD back in 2003. They also show it on TCM quite a bit, I've noticed (I've watched it twice on there in the last year).

Stone, you can watch me or you can join me. One of them is more fun.

I found this movie on DVD whilst searching for it at eBay... it wasn't through eBay that I actually bought it, but I somehow made my way to a store that carried it... if anyone wants the url for that store, let me know... I got it for almost nothing... S&H was more than the price of the DVD and I still got it for about $9.00... it was shipped with rapid speed and the quality is great, too!

Found a new DVD at Big Lots (Allentown, PA) for $3.00 on 8/8/09, as well as a new copy of "Bullitt" (single disc) for $3.00, and a box set of early Hitchcock films for $6.00.

BTW, it looks absolutely awesome played on my new Sony Blu-ray Player. Watching it as I write this!
