There has been some interest shown on this movie's discussion about films featuring trucks and truck drivers. Here are the ones I know about, plus some TV series & TV movies:

Movies:
"Smokey and the Bandit" (1977) (and it's very unfortunate sequels!)
"Breaker! Breaker!" (1977)
"Convoy" (1978)
"High Ballin’" (1978) (with Jerry Reed of "Smokey")
"The Great Smokey Roadblock" (1977)
"Black Dog" (1998)
"Wages of Fear" (1953)
"Sorcerer" (1977) (high-budget remake of "Wages," directed by William Friedkin)

TV Series / TV Movies:
"Moving On" (with Claude Akins)
"Flatbed Annie and Sweetiepie: Lady Truckers" (1979)
"Duel" (1971) (to me, the best TV Movie ever made!)

"They Drive by Night" (1940) - Humphrey Bogart & a freakishly awesome performance by Ida Lupino
"Maximum Overdrive" (1986) - Murdering trucks. AC/DC. What more could you want.

Yep...Lupino set a mark there that may have been eclipsed, but, I ain't seen it. And you think re-watching the movie unfold that when it gets there it won't be that bad/good, but, daddy-O, sweetheart, it's as shocking the 10th time as it was the 1st.

I remember seeing that movie on tv, on a rainy day at the beach, thinking my life is so dismal I'm watching some dumb b&w movie about trucks. But WOW she totally owned that flick. I agree, her last scene is one of the most chilling/shocking performances ever. "THE DOORS MADE ME DO IT!! AHAHAHA!"

Yep, we're so used to seeing the killers walk away from it without a problem. It was quite refreshing to see that response.

"Breakdown" with Kurt Russell & J.T. Walsh.

Russell finds out that Walsh ain't fuckin' around as a truck driver with a killer bent. The (truck) is used in many scenes, one quite humorous.

A good movie, up & down, straight as an arrow. Kathleen Quinlan plays the wife.

But, it's Walsh's movie & he delivers it.

“Deadhead Miles” (1972) — a rare curiosity no one’s seen.

“Race With the Devil” (1975) has the most exciting multi-truck chase ever filmed.
