Terrible
Watched this again for the first time in a couple of decades... Absolute tosh. Apart from Pinball Wizard and Eric Clapton it really is baad.

shareI agree. When I saw it as a teenager I thought it was the greatest thing ever, then saw it as an adult... YIKES!
shareIt’s a fun b-movie to chuckle at but it’s nowhere bear as brilliant as the album.
shareDid you take the proper medication before watching it?
shareI watched it for the first time this year and I liked it
shareIt's wierd, but not without merit.
Not just the rock stars of the era doing fabulous guest numbers, I mean a Tina Turner freaking out on drugs is always worth seeing, but because of Ann-Margaret. She was fantastic, in a film where you just don't expect fantastic acting! She single-handedly gave the film a heart, made it into the story of a mother's heartbreak, guilt, and love. She really can be fantastic, in the right role.
I think Tommy is a f*ing brilliant film. It could never ever be made today because no producers are brave enough to do something so wild, inventive, experimental, and totally drug-induced.
The music is great! Standout performances by Tina Turner, Eric Clapton, Elton John, and definitely Ann Margaret. Oh….and The Who. Can’t forget them, huh?
The closest musical in the past 3 decades would be Hedwig and the Angry Inch. It’s not as insane, but it’s pretty brilliant as well with a stellar muscial score!
Totally disagree. I thought it was fantastic.
