Was Captain America Winter Soldier based off this movie?
Let's be honest Captain America Winter Soldier was basically the same plot as this movie...
But instead of Robert being the good guy he is the bad guy.
What do you think?

Well, much depends on what side one is on . . . somebody wanted Turner eliminated . .. they failed in their mission (or did they?) earlier, and now had to go through a great deal to find him and finish the task . . . he may be the good guy to us, but the them he most certainly was the bad guy . . .and anyone who dares to get in the way may themselves be eliminated, and may not even know why . . .
shareThe Russo brothers admit that this film was a major inspiration for the script and the casting of Robert Redford as the main villain.
They share a basic plot outline;
Steve Rogers and Joseph "Condor" stumble upon information about their own government possibly involved in shady activity.
They are framed for the murder of a colleague (Sam/Nick Fury).
They go on the run with a female ally (Kathy/Natasha).
They evade a master assassin (Joubert/The Winter Soldier).
Their superior is clearly malevolent (Higgins/Pierce).
But that's, as I said, a very loose comparison.
Both are great films in their own right. At the end of the day, 3DotC is a quiet spy thriller and CA:TWS is a balls to the wall action thriller.
The writers and directors said the paid homage to this film. It's great to see a modern film that takes this approach to film making. Both are superb films, new and old.
shareWe've come full circle. Both movies are good ones and I own both of them. Reflections of their times. Yes I said that about a superhero movie.
shareIt's a huge rip off. I wonder why there was no backlash like there was with Joker for copying Taxi Driver and the King of Comedy.
shareI think it's more than safe to say that THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR was a major inspiration for WINTER SOLDIER. I actually saw the Marvel movie before watching CONDOR and when I finally got around to seeing the earlier film, I was like, "Hey, this is familiar!"
