for Washington ? really? a guy like turner wouldn't know the area code for Washington DC? lol. Im a nobody and even I know what it is. lol...other than that...love this flick.

True he would know, but it's a device to keep the viewer informed.
Otherwise we'd have no way of knowing what he suddenly realized.
