That was a nice movie too.

Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill would be a great movie to check out if you like Switchblade Sisters

In the "tough high school chicks" genre, Savage Streets was pretty great. Angel was a lotta fun too.

Nothing touches Switchblade Sisters, but I like those also.

Class of 1984 has a similar feel for me, although there is only one girl in the gang.

must. see. this. movie.

Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill is not the same.

If you really want to see similar films try Coppola's Rumble Fish and Outsiders. They are very similar and great movies too.

Not a movie, but there is a TV series with a lot of similarities. It's called Prisoner Cell Block H. Prisoner is a 1970's / 1980's Australian program. It was set in a womens prison and lasted for 692 episodes. It was a low budget program so the feel to it is often similar to 70s and 80s "B movies". The course of Prisoner's run saw fights, riots, fires, rape, escapes and even a terrorist siege! It's huge in Britain and Australia but not so widely known in the U.S. because American TV channels pulled the plug on it, apparently due to Australian slang being used in the program. There are "best of" boxsets in the U.S. , Australia and Britain. But they only contain selected episodes. The entire series is available from Australia...for hundreds of $$!

Of coarse the early episodes look dated now but if you do decide to give it a try, stick with it, it's a great series!

I vaguely remember my Mom watching that during its short run in the US! They used to play it late at night. I seem to remember a women being in there for killing her baby? Maybe that was the point of the one episode Mom let me sit through! hahaha

reply

Yes, "Born Innocent" was like the "Scared Straight" of the '70s. They cut the broom sequence when it was re-aired, but I have it on DVD -- not that I seek out such scenes.

reply

Whaaa? You don't ... ? What if I told you I didn't believe you? And why would you own a movie like this on DVD? You Pervert You...
