Overrated
I love Hal Ashby, Robert Towne and Beatty but this movie is just lacking. We have a slightly dim womanizer realizing his life is empty. Plenty of sub-text, but no text. No real dram except towards the end. I don't find any of the people, except Goldie Hawn, very loveable. Beatty and Christie much better together in Heaven Can Wait.
