Parental Advisory? Oh, Puh-leeze! Who Cares About Your Snot-Nosed Brats?

I love the poster who wanted to know about the film's content - what a good, noble parent. It is an R rated film - how dumb do you have to be?

I am sick and tired of having to hear screaming kids everywhere I go - even in the library. And the librarians cannot say anything. You parents should spend more time making your little brats behave in public and have the sense not to bring them to adult movies or into nice restaurants. A lot of people make the responsible decision to not have children and we really do not think your wild, screaming idiots are cute.

Name calling aside...I do think that many parents have this unrealistic idea that they can live in both the parent/non-parent worlds, and that somehow the responsibility of raising them belongs,also...to everyone else.A very centralist/non-individualistic,and convenient viewpoint.I can see the need for more non-children areas in our future society's. Having children comes with much emotional/instinctual bias and hopefully there will be a growing objective acknowledgment of that bias,in a world where the greatest single cause of poverty and natural destruction is Over Population. Its the really base emotional issue's that become third-rail subjects, and turn other wise people of fortitude into short sighted cowards. That being said...(kin'da)funny post!

The movie should be required viewing for all adolescents.

Absurdity: A Statement or belief inconsistent with my opinion.

Fortunately for you, your parents felt differently, sadly for us, your parents didn't. I do find it funny that you chose to start a new thread to compose your rant rather than reply directly to the OP who so offended you.

Yes. It's terrible you have to deal with screaming kids when someone brings their kids to the movie theater to see a movie that came out in 1975. Not sure what theater you're going to that shows Shampoo though.

I agree that the film is R, which is a huge clue that you don't want kids there. But an R rating could be JUST for language or JUST for nudity. The person's "child" may be 13 and he just wanted to know what the R is for to make an informed decision.

At any rate, I'm thrilled to hear that you are one of the people making the responsible decision not to procreate. Now if we can only keep arrogant windbags from public places, I would be happy as well.

OP has a valid point.

And I remember being told the library was a place you were quiet in.

reply

What country are you from? A place where racism is rampant but movies in the theaters are 40 years old?

reply

Learn how to put a sentence together and then get back to me, you Obama ass kisser.

reply

Oh, I'm very sorry Mr. Chips. Where do you live? I'd like to learn about a place that is both racist and nearly 40 years behind the times in terms of movies currently being shown in theaters. Respecting the office of President of the United States is not synonymous with being an ass-kisser.

Oh, and it's PRESIDENT Obama, not just Obama. It might help to have respect for the democratic process as well. Even if your from somewhere else, the title still holds.

reply

Um, excuse me, but isn't there another place on the internet where you can battle it out over politics? We're SUPPOSED to be discussing a movie here!

reply

Even those of us with children want a break and don't appreciate parents who bring their children to stores, motor vehicle, airports, movies and restaurants and let them run around like it's a playground. Oh, and the doctor's office which makes me ask why would you expose your children to catching the flu..in a waiting room. Leave them home;hire a babysitter.

A boring movie with boobs and Beatty's ass, what's a better entertainment for a kid?

reply

Bambi with Bambi's mother being killed.
