Carrie fisher super hot!!!

Man,
how did she fell off the face of the earth after star wars still is a mistery.

She was such a hot babe and funny actress, she should have been the new Shirley MacLane, but nothing really happened to her career. WTF? How hot is she in this one?

"Carrie WAS super hot!!!!!"

Yes yes yes!!
When she was making Return of the Jedi, she had to complete a tough training regime in order to fit into her slave-girl costume, and between 1980 and about 1988 she was looking GOOD. Check her out in The Blues Brothers if you don't believe me. She looks like Veronica Lake in it. Even in When Harry Met Sally she was babe-a-licious...

Now?...well, the years haven't been too kind, is all I'll say.

The man with one red shoe is not a very good movie, but there is one scene near the beginning of the movie that makes it worth watching if you're a Carrie fan. She is very funny and sexy in it.

reply

Carrie had a severe addiction to cocaine that pretty much wrecked any career momentum she had. Her semi-autobiographical book and movie, Postcards From the Edge, provides some insight into her personal life and what happened to her career.

reply

Carrie stated that she was high during Star Wars, Empire and jedi.

Ugh, she was NOT hot in this.

Star Wars and its sequels, however...a much different story (cue image of Leia dancing in slavegirl outfit...super yum.)

She was also in Hannah and Her Sisters, a great film from the 80's.

Fisher reminds me a lot of another actress from that time period, Shelley Duvall. Though they're polar opposites when it comes to attractiveness (Fisher POST-Shampoo, as I stated), I'd say that their careers mirror one another's quite appropriately.

They were both in a few BIG movies starting in the mid-70's, and worked with some of the primo directors of that time period...Fisher had Shampoo and Star Wars, with Ashby and Lucas, respectively, while Duvall had Nashville and The Shining, with Altman and Kubrick, respectively. And then of course they each worked with Woody Allen...Duvall with Annie Hall, and Fisher with the aforementioned Hannah and Her Sisters. After that, virtually nothing of reputability or notoriety.

An interesting tidbit: Both Annie Hall and Star Wars are perceived as two of the most revolutionary films ever made, and they were the two main competitors at '78 oscar ceremony.

Now I'm going to go back to thinking about Carrie Fisher dutifully dancing for Jabba

Ugh, she was NOT hot in this.

No way! She even said many times that she felt fat and ugly around that period.

However, in Empire and Jedi, and even THE BLUES BROTHERS...
...WOW!!

A gun toting mama, packing heat!

Carrie was cute, but come on what about Julie Christie? Julie Christie was by far the hottest of the entire cast. Just gorgeous, especially in that black backless dress.

Plainview:Carrie you are a BASTARD FROM A BASKET!
Carrie:I'll use my telekinesis on your ass!

In the scenes with both Lee Grant and Julie Christie, I thought Grant looked better.

Carrie Fisher is an author as well. Just saw her Wishful Drinking show where she performed in Seattle most every night for a month. I don't think acting was her main interest in life. Clearly she has problems but her appraoch to them is refreshing.

I've got to give the edge to Julie Christie, but I always found Lee Grant to be an incredibly attractive woman in her prime. And Goldie was just plain Venus-like in her younger years. Kate Hudson is a pretty woman, but it bothers me when people say she looks like a young Goldie. Goldie was more beautiful and sexy then than her daughter ever was or will be.

I don't know... after seeing her in Doctor Zhivago, I can't help but think of how much she looked like Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia. They looked like they could've been twins, which is kind of creepy when considering that O'Toole was considered for the role of Yuri Zhivago.

agree, to some extent or other, with all of you...

Lee Grant I always found hot (and in her older years, it was always obvious she was hot at some point). She's Dinah Manoff's mother (if I'm remembering correctly), another fave of mine, especially in Soap and Grease.

Julie Christie was a stunner, and she always seemed (at least to me, in retrospect), to carry herself above the other beautiful actresses of her time. A classy, classy lady.

And while I do think Kate Hudson is incredibly hot, and I do see a resemblance to the young Goldie, I agree, ICrews, that Goldie was one-of-a-kind, and that Kate is no Goldie (which I do not necessarily mean as an insult).

And as for Carrie Fisher: she was cute in this movie (I wouldn't say "Hot"), and although she did look great as Jabba's slave girl, I don't think she was ever at ease in that type of role (as one poster stated, kind-of...she does seem to have always had other priorities)...and cocaine and alcohol, when abused heavily over many years, will certainly take their toll on a beautiful young woman...but it was the 80s (and the 70s)...

"How do you feel?"
"Like the Kling-Klang King of the Rim-Ram Room!"

I wholeheartedly endorse this thread.

I logged in specifically to check whether I was completely alone in finding Fisher super-alluring in her one scene. LOL.

I suppose on a clear day you can see the class struggle from here.

She practically stole the movie with it.

I think Carrie Fisher was the hottest of all the actresses in this film but she could easily have been mistaken for gaol-bait. I think Kate Hudson is better-looking than Goldie Hawn, just because Goldie's face always looks a bit squishy with a tendency to wrinkle up. I've never particularly liked Julie Christie's looks because she always seems TOO sophisticated and a little aloof. Her face is just too grown-up.

Lorna (Carrie Fisher)was petite and buxom, bouncing all over the place playing tennis braless in a white shirt...She looked like a cute girl with huge, bouncing boobs that everyone noticed right away. I mean, could anyone look away when her nipples were that hard and long? She was tempting, but not beautiful yet.

reply

Yea, the first thing that came to mind in that scene, was that two years later George Lucas had to tape over her nipples in Star Wars due to them poking through her princess dress. LOL
