Well it depends, there's more than one kind of musical. Some are narrative/opera form where the dialogue is sung, some are the "spontaneous-break-into-song" type and others have much of their setting in a stage environment, where the characters are supposed to be singing as part of the plot.

This falls mostly into the middle category though a couple of the songs are stage pieces.

All you need to know are the basics... it's a spoof on old horror & sci-fi films, a la Frankenstein, but the mad scientist is a cross-dressing alien with nefarious and seductive plans. Some good old fashioned rock & roll songs and debauchery ensues!

I don't really like musicals, but I do love RHPS. I have enjoy some other non main stream musicals.

I think it's because I find it odd in a normal situation that people burst into song. But as Rocky Horror is so odd and off beat, the singing doesn't feel out of place.

Well there's only one way to know just watch it. Never get why people ask these types of questions, if you're curious enougj to ask you're curious enough to just try ot out.

You might or you might not. It's weird. But it's a must see, even if just once, simply because it's so unique
