Saw it for the 1st time, was 126 min version, was mostly bored stiff

The woman journalist was annoying, the dialogue was waffle (don't speak Italian so had to rely on the subtitles) and the music was so dated it made me laugh.

I think the padding scenes that are probably cut from the shorter versions bored me so much it spoiled the whole thing for me, by the time things got a bit more exciting I was too bored to be thrilled. Though if the scary bits were truly great it would have made up for the rest of it. For the me the most "scary" moment was that shot where the doll enters the room and runs towards the camera (but it only lasted 3 seconds).

Is this really considered to be Dario Argento at his best? Why? I watched Phenomena after this and enjoyed it more, even though it dragged a little as well at times and is a bit dated too.

I haven't seen any other Dario Argento films, I just watched those two this evening.

Anyone who is as easily bored and annoyed with older ("dated") movies as you are isn't going to derive any pleasure from Argento's films, particularly his earlier, smarter works. Abort mission as it's (you're) hopeless.

I would recommend sticking to your popular, Hollywood films... Giallos are not for you.

I'd submit that attention spans are nonexistent these days and that you were probably looking at Instagram or Twitter when this movie was playing instead of paying attention to it. What's boring is you, not the film.
