transitions POSSIBLE SPOILERS
Ok, another thing about this movie that is amazing...before or after almost every "scene" (when something, even something very little, "happens"). there is a shot of someone (usually Jack), "going somewhere). He may be walking, driving, climbing, flying (as he does out the window the cable car) The way these transitions are framed and filmed completely mimicks where he is emotionally in the story. Antonioni was very deliberate in this I think...when he is driving with the girl and she asks what he is running from, he tells her to turn around with her back to the front seat...obviously he is running from everything that was ever behind him...this can pretty much be applied to the whole film. Watch it in terms of where we see him going, from what angle and direction and I think the story opens up even more...
