Having watched the theatrical release a few months ago I am partway into the DVD and I feel that important parts of the movie are missing: I don't recall the film well enough to particularize them, but something seems wrong.
This is the full version, right? No technical glitches?
As far as I can tell having never seen the original version of the film based upon the running time I would say it is the complete version. It was the same version that was released in theatres last year. I think older prints before this restoration sometimes ommited the execution scene which from what is noted was real. and some of the "partial" nudity.
I haven't listened to Nicholson's commentary yet but I doubt if he would talk much about it had he not ok'd it so to speak. He also put up much of his own money for the restoration and re-release from what I heard. So no one should be disapointed - unless you dislike the film.
