I have now put my 1976 review on-line !

30 years ago, when 30 myself, I did a full page article on The Passenger for a new defunct English film magazine, Films Illustrated.

I have now re-done it as a comment on the film, which should soon appear. It however was too long, so had to do some pruning, as one is limited to 1,000 words !

Great that the movie has finally been re-released at the NFT currently and out on dvd next week. It was not even available for last year's Antonioni season at the NFT, though cast members Jenny Runacre and Steve Berkoff were there along with Mark Peploe and others to discuss Antonioni's films and their involvement in them. Fascinating stuff. Looking forward to seeing my 30-year old review online!

Thanks. Here in England The Passenger has famously not been available for about 20 years [that story about Nicholson having the rights etc]. It may have been issued in the USA or elsewhere recently, but is now finally on dvd here as from next week. I should be getting my copy by mail order tomorrow though! Looking forward to the commentary! Some movies impress themselves on one so much that one knows every frame of them.

Viz my review I just thought it was interesting to re-visit something one did 30 years ago when a lot younger, but I did have to cut about half of it out, as I had gone into the architecture (always a key feature in an Antonioni film), the television interviews Locke was doing and the parable about the blind man who kills himself after regaining his sight which Locke tells the girl before sending her away. I had also gone into the extraordinary last sequence but also had to delete to fit into the 1,000 words.

Good comments on Sexy Beast !
