...then you may enjoy another movie which uses space and objects as part of the story telling process, Gus Van Sant's "Gerry" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0302674/
There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of animals Chuck Norris allows to live.
You're welcome, bud. How can my opinion be "wrong" though? I'd seriously like to know? Honestly, if you want to be so narrow minded as to reject the viewpoints of others, then you really shouldn't be starting threads like this. What a *beep* baby!
Fact of life # 6,345,771: some people don't rate Gus van Sant OR Sofia Coppola, and see them for the overrated arse they so collectively are.
Yeah. Why watch totally overrated Van Sant (I never liked him...) if you can watch the Master himself, Béla Tarr? BTW Van Sant got his inspiration for this filmmaking style from Béla Tarr who got his inspiration from Miklós Jancsó who got his inspiration from Antonioni. So all this traces back to old Michelangelo. That's how it goes in the movie world. Sofia Coppola simply sucks...
"A voice from behind me reminds me. Spread out your wings you are an angel."
Actually "Gerry" has quite a lot in common with Antonioni's own "Zabriskie Point". (Photographically, not thematically, obviously).
I'm not sure why people who like Bela Tarr and Antonioni should have a problem with Van Sant. Or Sofia Coppola. I like 'em all. Particularly compared to most of what's on offer out there. You should lighten up a bit.
I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.
