I want the full film of NASHVILLE. I distinctly remember the opening/tital shot being a very very long one with the little blond woman wandering around. This made sense of the whole film. Without it, the end scenes make have no validity. How/where can I get a DVD with non-chopped down version? I saw the "real" version in the cinema and on television. I bought an Amazon release which is horribly mutilated. Any ideas? Please post. Thanks CB

Yes, the DVD is exactly the same length as the original theatrical cut. (I ought to know, I saw it in the theatre enough.) The cut Pauline Kael saw months before the picture's release was about 20 minutes longer and there were various other cuts before the theatrical debut. I don't what blonde woman you are refeering to.
shareThe opening/title "shot" is a photo collage of all 24 actors in the film. It's like a cheesy TV commercial advertising all the great music in Nashville. Then it goes to the Hal Phillip Walker van driving around. No blonde woman.
