The new DVD is cut(I think) somewhat.

I saw this movie around 1978 on a VHS tape copy that my local public library had, of all things. The scene that everyone mentions about the fight did seem a little more gory and more up close when Mede had bitten Topaz's neck.
But one scene not mentioned by anyone, was when Brownlee was inspecting the slaves at the movies start. I am quite sure that when he examines the slave for hemmorhoids(sp.) on the copy I saw in 1978, it is a close-up and seems that Brownlee is almost sticking his head up you know where. The medium distance shot in the new DVD is not nearly as shocking or gross.
I rented the movie on VHS at a local rental store a few years ago, and it seemed to have the scene with Brownlee intact but the fight scene was cut when Mede bites Yopaz's neck. Oh well, I do hope one day we'll have the full uncut version including extras with all the alternate scenes they evidently shot showing less nudity and gore.
