New Master! HD - Blu-ray out now in France

I co-produced the first Blu-ray on KILLER ELITE. It's got a wonderful new high definition master and includes my supplements (Documentary PASSION & POETRY - SAM'S KILLER ELITE, TV-Spots, Radio Spots etc..)

The two big questions - what are the differences between the two cuts, and does the film have removeable French subtitles or are they forced?

"Security - release the badgers."

I had a quick scan through this afternoon and the "Director's Cut" appears to be the same as the normal 123 minute version which is on MGM's DVD. The "Theatrical version" is 7 minutes shorter and is at least missing a scene of James Caan doing some karate training which is in the old MGM DVD. Maybe the original French theatrical version was cut (presumably the same cuts as listed for the Swedish cinema version under Alternate Versions).
The good news is that the picture quality is a massive improvement over the old non anamorphic DVD. Perhaps not reference quality but pretty damn good. The shorter version has French and English tracks in DTS-HD mono while the longer version has English DTS-HD mono. French subtitles on both versions can be switched off from the remote control. Extras are a promotional art gallery, the theatrical trailer, TV and radio spots and an interesting 27 minute featurette on the making of the film including behind the scenes footage and interviews.

Be horny.

Just got the French blu ray of Killer Elite. It looks the best it has ever looked. Stupendous job all around! Glad to see both cuts are in HD (usually it seems one must be in standard def and cruddy looking) and blow away the US Twilight Time version! The detail and color are looking their best. Makes me glad to be able to play all regions blu rays.
