love this film

I have just seen this film for the first time - i love it.

this is a rather pointless post - i just had to tell someone how much i thought about this film, so here seemed like the best place.

i enjoy Secretary and Crash and other films that run in a similar genre but this film really ... i don't know, captivated me i guess.

Anyway, there we go ... pointless, but had to be said :P

Not pointless at all! Perhaps you may be interested in knowing that a lot of people who were equally captivated (tee hee) chat over on the Secretary board all the time; you may be interested in taking a look over there.

great what parts of it did you like?

I suppose the obvious really, the exploitation of O was such that at first i wondered if she truly knew what she was getting herself into but her acceptance of what there was about her that she had yet to discover. I suppose for me there was a recognition with what she was going through and my own issues around accepting who i am.

I suppose the growth of her as a sub but also her understanding of what was expected - i know it sounds odd but it really ... i don't know, 'spoke to me' i guess

how was it you watched story of O in the first place? I liked the phrase "the exploitation of O" that'd make a great name for a sequel. haha

I'd heard of it through people who enjoyed Secretary and Crash and other such films - i could never afford to buy it before now so i hadn't seen it before - plus i get so much rubbish from my friends about what i watch - they don't understand it and they think it is all porn - which it isn't - i suppose explaining some things to them is just not worth my effort.

my house seems to have something against that style of life so i have to watch it by myself and not talk about it - it seems odd but its easier to live in a house were people aren't always thinking you are a freak.

That doesn't seem odd at ALL, my dear! I felt completely repressed while living under my parents' roof, until I moved to university a few months before my 17th birthday and began to associate with people of like minds. Having friends and lovers who respect and/or share one's ideas about what is sexually exciting is TREMENDOUSLY liberating!
