I developed an insatiable craving for tri-coloured icream with chopped almonds gently enveloped underneath copious amounts of whipped cream-but it has to be whipped cream-I won't eat any other kind-no clotted cream none of that fancy cool whip that tastes like junk....but even more I wanted someone to share it with while reading passages of the book aloud....

Given that, as I understand it, and I'm way to lazy to confirm it, the book was actually written by the author as a way to intrigue her lover, as she became aware that she was aging, it's probably how it was meant to be read.

The part in the book where she meets the readheaded man. His name was Eric I believe...and also the part where she is sent to Roissy and first presented to the men there.

I guess it was the fact that until she stepped over the threshhold at Roissy she had no idea what was in store for her.
